Kittiwake dive site: Initial report looks positive for popular attraction

Over the weekend, it was discovered that due to heavy waves and currents, one of Cayman’s beloved dive sites, The Kittiwake artificial wreck and reef was turned on its port side and shifted from its resting place. The recently released pictures of The Kittiwake on its side picked up significant local and international coverage. CITA’s agencies swiftly assessed the situation while also consulting with the Department of Environment (DoE).

United Kingdom Foreign Minister Boris Johnson landed on Anguilla Tuesday afternoon as a Cayman Islands Government chartered Cayman Airways jet was leaving the island after delivering medical teams, medicines and other needed supplies.

The official Cayman Islands Facebook page, @VisitCaymanIslands recently sat down with a paralympic athlete Ryan Chalmers as he prepared for an unprecedented feat. On Saturday, April 6, Ryan kicked off his 'Push Across America' in Los Angeles. Raising awareness and funds for Stay-Focused, a non-profit organisation providing disabled teens and young adults with motivating scuba dive programmes in the Cayman Islands, Chalmers will push his racing chair the equivalent of two to three marathons per day to complete his 71- day journey from Los Angeles to New York City.
