Contest Rules

  1. Applicants must be 11 to 19 years old. The Cayman Though My Eyes Competition will be judged by Group 1: Age 11 – 13,  Group 2: Ages 14 – 16, and Group 3: Ages 17 – 19
  2. Must submit a 1-3 minute video.
  3. Video material must be shot in the Cayman Islands.
  4. Any type of video recording device can be used. Video can be shot with cellular phones with video capabilities and standard handheld home movie camera.
  5. No PowerPoint submissions. STILL IMAGES to be used minimally.
  6. Any Submission must be your own original work, created solely by you; must not have been previously published, released or distributed in any form; must not have won any award; and must not infringe the copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other personal or proprietary rights of any person or entity.
  7. Music used in the submission must be original and/or not require any additional clearances to use or post on public websites or to use in public forums of any kind. You are solely responsible for obtaining consent, prior to submitting your video. Source/s or artist/s must be credited.
  8. Submissions that are lewd, obscene, sexually explicit, pornographic, disparaging, defamatory, libelous, or that otherwise contain inappropriate content or objectionable material will automatically be disqualified. The Cayman Islands Department of Tourism reserves the right to use their discretion.
  9. Cayman Islands Department of Tourism reserves the right to disqualify ANY Submission that it believes violates or potentially violates any of the foregoing requirements or otherwise fails to comply with any provision of these Official Rules. The decisions of Cayman Islands Department of Tourism on this and all matters pertaining to the contest shall be final and binding.
    Submissions become the property of Cayman Islands Department of Tourism and may use the submissions in any medium for promotional purposes, and the submissions may be edited for time and/or content. Credit will be given to the student.
