Bride: Anne Belli, Newspaper Reporter
Groom: Isvaldo "Issy" Perez Jr., Region Vice President/Frito-Lay Inc.
Date: Feb. 25, 2006
Hometown: The Woodlands, TX
Wedding Location: Rooftop of the Hyatt Regency Grand Cayman
Surrounded by sun-bursting tropical flowers and the warm breezes from the Caribbean Sea, Anne and Issy exchanged their vows in an intimate ceremony on the rooftop deck of the Hyatt Regency Grand Cayman. Twenty-five family members came to share in their caually elegant celebration. With this being the second wedding for both, (they each had the big lavish weddings years ago), this time around "we chose to concentrate on the blessings of family and our shared love for the outdoors. When we got engaged, we knew immediately that we wanted to be married by the water. We originally though of Hawaii, but quickly ruled it out because the distance would make it too difficult to reach for most members of our family, who were scattered throughout the country."
Anne and Issy found that "Cayman is not only stately, but also so very romantic, providing a beautiful mix of informality and elegance." Their rooftop location gave them the chance to enjoy the beauty of the beach without having to be in the sand - something they wished to avoid for the sake of their guests. "The roof deck overlooks the beautiful Seven Mile Beach, but it was decorated with gorgeous chairs, flowers and tables to create a truly elegant look." After the heartfelt celebration and delectable fare, everyone enjoyed the pineapple patterned wedding cake complete with tropical flowers.
The newly refurbished Grand Cayman Marriott on Seven Mile Beach played host to Anne & Issy's family. "Grand Cayman, although none of us had ever been there, seemed the perfect meeting place for all of us. We will be returning this summer. And while there, we'll be looking for a summer home for our family. We fell in love with Grand Cayman."
Anne shares her favorite Cayman wedding memory: "Marrying the love of my life with the beautiful sea, spectacular sunset, family and our children surrounding us."
