Vicky White and Tony Smart of Liverpool, UK, had always dreamt of a wedding in the sun. The couple got their wish after winning You & Your Wedding magazine's contest consisting of a dream wedding and honeymoon in the Cayman Islands as well as a wedding dress by designer Ben de Lisi. Their close friends and family joined them on this exciting journey; none could believe that the two would be married in such paradise.
Desigend by Ben de Lisi, Vicki wore a fitted ivory silk gown topped with Swarovski crystal dotted rosettes. Coincidentally, the bride had spotted the dress at the finals for the You & Your Wedding competition, unknowing then that it was a Ben de Lisi design.
Thrilled by their accommodations at The Caribbean Club on Seven Mile Beach, the couple was married in an elegant beach side ceremony. With décor provided by Celebrations, the wedding gleamed to the bride's utmost standards, following a theme of crystals, starfishes, and shells. A cocktail hour around the pool, also decorated with starfish and lanterns, was held after the ceremony. Finally, the reception continued upstairs on a huge ocean front balcony. An intimate five-course meal was then provided by Luca, a fantastic Italian restaurant within the Carribbean Club.
After honeymooning at the Majestic Southern Cross Club on LIttle Cayman, the couple felt that they have had a once in a lifetime experience. Vicki, the bride, recalls her wedding fondly. "We have so many memories of our time on the Cayman Islands: its beauty, the friendliness of the people, fantastic food, fabulous trips, a helicopter tour over the reef, the Atlantis submarine, Stingray City, deep sea fishing, snorkelling, the friends that we have made...and of course our wedding day."
