|Jr. Batabano Street Parade & Family Fun Day|
Major sponsors are Dart Realty and the Ministry of Sports, Youth and Culture. With their financial contribution the committee is able to provide the schools with costumes as well as offer C.I$1,000.00 to each participating school. There are nine private and public schools registered this year for the 10th annual costume street parade for Junior Batabano. Many new and exciting events have been added to the programme this year as the juniors celebrate 10 years of their very own Junior Batabano.

|Carnival Happy Hour Series |
Directly following the Batabano launch, the momentum keeps pumping with the start of Caymans first ever, joint carnival happy hour series. This initiative introduces the union between the Cayman Carnival Batabano committee and several locally owned bars on the island. Mas bands will have the opportunity to showcase their costumes at each of the Happy hour bar series events and registration to jump in the various bands will offered. Lime the presenting sponsor will be offering some very exciting prizes at each of these carnival happy hour series events.

Batabano will return the annual Masquerade fete to its home at Pedro St. James. Each guest is presented a spectacular mask upon arrival, a champagne reception, which is sponsored by Jacques Scott. The evening offers an opportunity to personally thank all of our sponsors and pay tribute to them for their generous support. Batabano is a nonprofit organization and is run volunteers, the evening also allows us to show appreciation to the many volunteers who come together to make the carnival a reality each year. Featuring delightful cocktails and hors’doeuvres style finger food, this year’s attendee’s will be able to experience a nice masquerade party that will “wine” down to a genuine Soca fete. The evening has over the past 10 years been the opening to Batabano and offers an opportunity for our government agencies and local business community to meet socially.

This year Cayman Carnival Batabano will be hosting our first ever Soca DJ competition. We are bringing out the best of the best for this one! Welcoming out all our local DJ’s to be apart and compete for the chance to be crowned Batabano’s King of Soca.

|Adult Street Parade & Fete|
Featuring the visiting stilt walkers, acrobats and female limbo dancers and will lead the parade in a colorful sea of happiness with music, masqueraders, floats and costumed individuals. A new float category has been introduced and interested businesses or community initiatives may register to promote their businesses or products in an artistic and creative manner to the thousands of spectators. The parade will start from the Marquee and head on the west bay road ending on Harbor drive. Masquerade bands will compete for best overall band, Spirit of Batabano among other prizes. There are currently 8 adult bands signed up to be on the road.

|International Food Festival|
We are all used to, and look forward to the food vendor each year for their wide variety of foods they offer. Let’s face it; there is something extra yummy about Jerk bought on the road from an open grill! Well this year we are offering you even more to make your mouth water. This year Downtown George Town will play to Batabano’s 1st EVER International Food Festival! In addition to the local vendors we are all accustom to, our festival will also feature stalls representing a few fine restaurants on the island.

This year’s street fete will feature Barrington Levy. Visitors and locals, alike, will be able to enjoy musical entertainment provided by locals and this guest visiting Soca band. The Saturday night fete will be held on Harbor drive, following the parade festivities.

|Art in the Heart|
Art in the Heart is a dynamic event that is designed to bring together local artists and craft vendors in a village style arrangement in Celebration Park. Vendors will be able to showcase their art work and craft for the public throughout the day. These items will be for show or sale. Spectators will have the chance to view the parade, and also embrace this new event and appreciate a close-up of the special talents of our people. This year we will always feature various forms of entertainment to provide to the George Town crowd as they await the arrival of the parade.

|The Last Hoorah|
The Last Hoorah will take the form of a Carnival Village (Carnival Heritage Experience). This is a uniquely extravagant event featuring music, dance and a festive celebration of all things exclusive to our island, the Caribbean region and the carnival spirit. There will be food, craft making, and other trendy carnival souvenirs available for purchase. Then the Carnival Village comes alive once the sun goes down. With live performances from both local and international artist and DJ’s, Village goers will experience the full carnival run down in one neat compact day. Look forward to the fun!
