Fresh Air Fund - on the Caribbean Sea

The Fresh Air Fund is a non-profit agency established in 1877 and has provided free summer vacations to over 1.7 million children. In 2007, the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism, Fresh Air Fund and Cayman Airways developed a partnership when the national flag carrier began its direct service to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. Since then, Cayman Airways’ JFK route has grown and so has the association with the Fresh Air Fund.

Each summer the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism hosts a small group of New York kids between the ages of eight and twelve for one week. While on-island, the inner-city kids reside with local families where they experience true Caymanian hospitality and learn about Cayman’s culture and history through their host families and our various major attractions and historical sites, awarding them the opportunity for cultural exchange.
