DIVE SITE OF THE MONTH: BATS CAVE REEF, GRAND CAYMAN

Dive site of the month: Bats Cave Reef, Grand Cayman

This shallow dive on the South Shore of Grand Cayman due just east of Bat Cave Channel is a very extensive cave and tunnel system, reputed by some to be the on the island. With a minimum depth of 30ft and a maximum of 50ft, the dive features numerous Staghorn and Elkhorn coral, species which always appear to have snapper resting underneath. On many occasion, Tarpon can be found cruising through the entrances of the tunnels with other marine life such as Horseyed Jacks, Bermuda Chubb, Lobster and Shrimps.
