Did you know that the Kittiwake, recently awarded TripAdvisor's Certificate of Excellence, was previously a U.S. submarine rescue vessel? After a triumphant sinking in 2011, the vessel has taken up vibrant residency along the northern tip of Seven Mile Beach as an artificial reef for goliath groupers to patrol the ship's bottom and for countless other sea critters to play among its decks.
