During a vacation in Grand Cayman, Todd proposed to Aimee while kayaking in the crystal blue waters Cayman is famous for. "We decided that we loved Grand Cayman and would get married on the same beach where he proposed. The Cayman Islands are the most beautiful islands in the world in our opinion." Family and friends flew in from the southeast US as well as New Zealand and Canada and found fabulous accommodations at the Westin Casuarina Resort.
Taking part in all the Cayman Islands have to offer, guests enjoyed an array of activities, including a boat cruise to Stingray City, The Reef and Rum Point; dinners at Calypso Grille, Reef Grill, and Bamboo; drinks at The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman; a day trip to Georgetown for shopping and spa treatments at the Hyatt!
Carrying a tropical bouquet and walking along tiki torches and conch shells in the powder white sand, Aimee wore an Anjolique white and silver satin dress with tulle overlay and silver beading...and was barefoot, of course! Todd sported a Khaki suit from Banana Republic complete with flip flops. “It was right at sunset so the sky was lit perfectly. It was very laid back, but also very personal for us.” Following the romantic ceremony on the beach at Conch Point, “everyone walked right down the street, past the cow,” to Ristorante Papagallo for a fun-filled (and delicious) celebration.
Would she recommend a Cayman Wedding? “Oh yes! I have told everyone I know to get married there! It was so easy to plan, and if you don’t want to plan it yourself there are so many helpful people who can do it for you! You can have a formal wedding or a laid back wedding. There are plenty of things to do on the island: lots of restaurants to visit, lots of things to see, lots of rays to catch! It is so beautiful there – we want to move!”
