Korye dreamed of a tropical backdrop for her wedding to John. Cayman Castle caught her attention while searching online for the perfect place for their family and friends to join them for their destination wedding. "Staying together at the Cayman Castle was like staying at our own private resort. The house and guest cottage are gorgeous! The infinity pool offers a great view of the ocean and with the full kitchen and bar we were never hungry or thirsty!" With guests coming from both coasts of the United States, the Cayman Islands were the perfect place to "meet in the middle". Family and friends enjoyed sport fishing, snorkeling & scuba diving, delicious dinners at Portofino’s Restaurant and Roland’s Garden, lounging on the beautiful beaches and visiting the Botswain’s Beach Turtle Farm. A sunset rehearsal dinner cruise by Red Sail Sports the evening before gave everyone a chance to relax and get ready for the wedding day festivities. With the ‘castle’ as her backdrop, Korye stepped onto the private beach in a silk crepe dress with spaghetti straps and crystal beading, while her bridesmaids were in matching floral print dresses from Banana Republic. The ladies carried bouquets they hand-picked themselves from East End Gardens and Gifts. John sported Tommy Bahama shorts and a tuxedo-style shirt with French cuffs by Guess while his groomsmen were in matching Tommy Bahama shorts and shirts. Mise-en-Place catered their Cayman Castle wedding reception, with an interesting menu and a staff "full of energy." The delicious vanilla rum wedding cake with real sea-shells as decoration was created by Ye Old English Bakery. Looking back now, Korye and John feel the reception was by far their favorite Cayman memory. "The whole group shared kind and warm words about each other which really touched us and confirmed why we had chosen the group we did to join us. Sharing that time with our parents, siblings and close friends was priceless. It went off without a hitch; the island’s atmosphere just brings a sense of calm." |
