Blackbeards Rum Company
Based on the success of Blackbeard’s rums, the company has more recently introduced two new lines: Cayman Ice gin is a high-quality, competitively priced alternative to imported brands, and has quickly gained popularity with locals. The Baldwin family of liquors includes ten different original formulas, all blended here on the Island, including such favorites as Amaretto, Cay-Lua, Triple-Sec, Mango Schnapps. With their distinctive labels, these new lines make very attractive and uniquely Caymanian souvenirs. In addition to the growing on-Island popularity of the brands, Blackbeard’s is pleased to note international interest in its products, especially the recently introduced Blackbeard’s Rum Cakes. Baked in their own bakery using, of course, the company’s premium rums, the cakes are finding a ready export market in destinations around the world. “We have noticed that the visitors to the Islands are always looking for gift items that are made in Cayman. We are pleased to offer something that is truly Caymanian, and of course everyone enjoys a taste of the Islands.” says Bill Baldwin, Managing Director. As more and more visitors carry these delicacies home, orders have been following in from overseas.

Blackbeard's Trading Company
Blackbeard’s Rum Company began as a family owned retail store in 1986 owned and operated by the late Mr. & Mrs. Keith Baldwin and their children Lynn & Bill. The company and their single retail location quickly grew on the island of Grand Cayman to become a multiple -store retail business, an importer and wholesaler and exclusive producer of authentic Cayman Islands Rums and Spirits and award winning Rum Cakes.
By 2005, Blackbeard’s Rum Company had not only survived the devastating Hurricane Ivan of 2004 but had flourished as an importer, distributor, producer and leading retailer with seven prime locations. The company was acquired in April of 2007 and subsequently re-structured and re-named Blackbeard’s Trading Co. Ltd. It was merged with the Active Capital Holding, Cayman Distributors Ltd in April 2008 to form the Cayman Islands leading wholesale and retail beverage company and is now positioned and resourced for continued and exponential growth.

Tortuga Rum Company, Ltd.
Founded in 1984, Tortuga Rum Company Ltd. is now the largest duty free liquor business in the Cayman Islands. The company has grown dramatically since that year when it introduced Tortuga Gold Rum, Cayman’s first local private label rum. Today, Tortuga Rum Company’s line of rums has grown to include 11 high quality registered blends, led by its Premium Label 12-Year Old Tortuga Rum for true connoisseurs. You’ll also enjoy the superior quality of Tortuga Light, Gold, Dark, 151 Proof, Rum Cream, Rum Liqueur; Coconut, Banana, and Spiced Rums and Tortuga Coffee Liqueur. The Tortuga Rum Cake story officially began in 1987. It was at this time that the company's owners started baking rum cakes at home, using a family recipe that had been handed down through generations. They of course used Tortuga Rum as the main ingredient. Encouraged by rave reviews they received while baking the cakes for friends, they began testing local demand. The Tortuga Rum Cake made its first "public" appearance on the dessert menu of a local restaurant, and was an instant hit. The demand for the rum cakes became so great that in 1990 a 1,700 square-foot commercial bakery was established.
