Come marvel at the Cayman Islands' premier showcase. With 65 acres of displays, the park's Woodland Preserve represents 40 acres and is preserved in its natural state with a 0.8 mile walking trail. The Visitors' Centre, a guest's first stop, is designed in a contemporary West Indian style, and houses visitor orientation & information, a reception room with changing exhibits, gift shop, classroom and administrative offices. A small cafe is part of the Visitors' Centre complex. The Botanic Park's Heritage Garden features an original restored turn-of-the-century Caymanian farm house complete with original furnishings, cook room, cistern, out buildings, fences and dry walls built of old coral. The two and one-half acre Floral Colour Garden is an explosion of tropical colour. Situated next to the Lake, the Floral Colour Garden is a series of gardens based on colour. Beginning with pink, the visitor then walks through gardens of red, orange, yellow, white, blue, purple and lavender. The lake itself is two acres in size with three islands of native vegetation, and has become an important site for native aquatic birds including the rare West Indian Whistling Duck. Also featured at the park are the Cayman Blue Iguana Captive Breeding and Reintroduction Facilityand classes offered to the public.
